A Brief Overview of My Experience
I graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 2017 with a focus in Commercial Drum Set Performance, and have been an active participant in the Southern California music scene ever since. Initially, I mainly freelanced with jazz and experimental groups, then branched out into pop/rock and heavier styles of music. I am currently a member of the progressive rock/metal band Gingsu and hard rock band Red Morrow. In addition to these projects, I continue to freelance in a wide range of ensembles, performing blues, jazz, latin rock, and avant garde/noise rock.
Outside of performing and collaborating with other musicians, I have been a drum teacher for the past eight years.
I also have a particular passion for free improvisation, and do it as often as possible!
TEACHING
In-person/Online
I have been fortunate enough to teach many wonderful students over the past eight years, and currently have openings in my roster. Whether you're seeking help preparing for an audition, looking for a traditional approach to drum education, or have an itch to start incorporating more unconventional practices into your playing, I can help.
Generally speaking, my instruction is best suited for enthusiastic, coachable students, regardless of age. I believe that, in order to get the most out of our lessons, it is crucial to be self-motivated and committed to consistently working on assignments.
In addition, one of my primary passions is working with individuals with special needs. I provide adaptive lessons that build upon the student's strengths and existing musical and rhythmic inclinations, while keeping the experience inspirational and fun.
SESSION WORK
I've lent my drumming to a number of recordings spanning a substantial variety of genres, a handful of which are featured on the page entitled "Sample Selections".
